The Brain and Language Lab (http://brainandlanguagelab.org/) is looking for a full-time research assistant (RA) for 6 months, with the possibility of a renewal.
The lab is located at Campus Biotech in Geneva. The RA will be involved in a large-scale language study with behavioural and brain data within the NCCR Evolving Language.
Ideal profile: 2nd -year Masters student or recent graduate (Bachelors or Masters) in Psychology or Neuroscience.
Native French speaker with good command of Englishexperience with data entry (& ideally analysis), experience with excel & google worksheets, ideally also Python for data science, UNIX shells (basics)Good communication skills: asking questions and working independently when neededGood project management skills, detail oriented: Ability to keep up with established and time-sensitive procedures for recruitment and enrolment of participantsexperience with testing healthy adults, and ideally experience with / knowledge of dyslexia
Tasks will include:
o sending information material and offering explanations
o helping with booking of hotels, trains and flights for foreign participants
o checking medical questionnaires for eligibility to participate
o collecting and storing sensitive material such as informed consentsTesting: behavioural testing via Zoom and in person at Campus BiotechScoring of language tests in French (native or near-native French required)Data entryKeeping project materials in order and easily searchableUpdating information on participants and performed testsAssisting the researchers with MRI data collection 1 day a week and 1 or 2 Sundays a month (tbd with other assistants on a rotational basis and to be counted as a work day, i.e. taking one day off in the following week)
The RA will be offered training in the first weeks and will share the lab with the researchers managing the study.
