We combine scientific, technological, and clinical approaches to assess the role of brain oscillations in memory. Autobiographical memory (ABM) is a complex cognitive function involving a brain network of interacting brain regions to store and retrieve our life experiences, defining who we are. Loss of memory is a devastating symptom in Alzheimer disease (AD) patients and a relevant of disease progression.

Beyond providing novel insights into the causal role of brain oscillations in ABM using high-density electroencephalography (hdEEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), we aim to address the possibility of reducing ABM deficits in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) patients by reinstalling brain oscillations using personalized non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) in the form of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS).

Our translational works aims to make contributions relevant to clinical application and individualized therapy for dementia and age-related memory deficits.
